I have an appointment today with a Pain Management doctor because my Spine doctor is not able to find a cause for the back pain I have had for 6 months now.
What should I expect?
Pain Management Specialist
Pain Management specialists, or pain medicine doctors, are experts at diagnosing the cause of pain and then treating the pain. Anesthesiologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons most frequently specialize in pain management. Some psychiatrists also specialize in pain management.
Pain Management Exams
The doctor will exam/question you about your back pain. He should have x-rays from your doctor to review or may order some if this has not been done yet. Make sure you tell the Pain Management doctor how long you have been having this problem what might of caused it if you know what makes it hurt what makes it feel better are other questions he may ask.
