does anybody know of a home remedy for athletes foot?

Yes, soak your feet in vinegar water – warm and towel dry and when you shower – rinse your feet (before getting out) with mouthwash… my husband is in Navy and often gets it when on a ship and these remedies help a lot!

Can you put apple cider on athletes foot to cure it?

If not what are some other home remedies

It might help if it were apple cider vinegar.

Have you ever used Dermatin from Melaeluca? That worked great for my son’s feet.

The product has tea tree oil in it so you might try that.

Does Joke itch and athlete foot itch has same meaning and symptoms and treatment?

Does Joke itch and athlete foot itch has same meaning and symptoms and treatment?I am having annoying itch on my genital areas, specially on my testicles and inner thighs and even in back downthere. My friend says I am having joke itch.I am not sure about it.He suggests me to use anti fungal cream.I do have anti fungal cream but it says it’s for athletes foot.Any suggestions?

first off see a doctor. second of all jock itch, ringworm and athletes foot are all caused by the same tinea fungus and yes the meds are the same you have to read the directions for the specific area being treated. Since you have never had this symptom before you should let the doctor diagnose you because it may be something else including an std.

Does anyone have a good home remedy for ATHLETES FOOT???

I buy extra virgin coconut oil; before he goes to bed, my husband rubs it onto his feet and then puts on a pair of no show socks. His feet are 99.9% better now, plus they no longer stink!

How to cure bad athletes foot?

I have had it for about 3 months now. Its on all of my toes (top and bottom) and it smells really bad, itches and peels a lot. I have already tried Lysenol (spray kind) and the athletes foot cream that the store Target has in their pharmacy. Please, please, PLEASE make sure your answer is 100% sure. Does peeing on your foot work?

first make sure that it is indeed a fungus infection…see a dermatologist..in the mean time..wash thoroughly with regular soap & water…dry thoroughly!! …use a good anti fungal cream such as tinactin brand of tolnaftate…there are many other,s but this is my favorite..they are available over the counter….wash& dry at least twice daily & reapply the cream…wash & dry hand,s & towel,s/wash rag,s …it is contagious but washing will curtail any transfer of the fungus …keep your feet as dry as possible..use cotton ball,s with the cream in between your toe,s & keep them in the open air as much as possible….& peeing on your feet will not work…I have gotten result,s with tolnaftate in as little as a day or so & complete cure in a week…just be sure it is in fact a fungal infection….good luck!

whats the best treatment for athletes foot?

Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) is a dermatophyte infection of the feet. Over-the-counter antifungal powders or creams can help control the infection. These generally contain miconazole, clotrimazole, or tolnaftate. Continue using the medicine for 1 – 2 weeks after the infection has cleared from your feet to prevent the infection from returning.

Does anyone have a home remedy for Athletes Foot? I can’t get to the Doctor until Thursday.?

I have to work and be on my feet for 40 hours before the Doc can see me to hopfully help my pain. It’s on the bottom, on the ball of my foot where I would put all my weight if I were squating. Please help
thanks

The first answer has good
recommendations-there are many OTC anti-fungal
sprays/creams to help-but it sounds like u might have a strain/sprain in the plantar-fascia ligament on the foot bottom? Try a snug shoe with a good arch support-does it feel better when u soak the foot and/or massage the bottom? If so thats PFS-
and may require a prosthethis from a Podiatrist (molded foot support)

What is a natural cure for athletes foot?

If I dont want to use an rx or a chemical filled cream, what other options do i have to get rid of athletes foot?

(serious answers only please)

thanks!
Ok, i have peed and do pee in the shower
and i actually am barefoot 99% of the time…

vinegar ,cool, that stuff cleans everything!!!! i just did by entire bathroom top to bottom today with vinegar and baking soda it worked better than anything i have ever tried!

Keep your feet clean and dry and get lots of natural sunlight. You’ll have to clean all of your shoes to get rid of the fungus. Use soap and water and fungus powders from the store. Also make sure that you use socks with natural fibres…cotton, wook or silk. Anything artificial holds sweat in and feet can’t breathe properly. Take your shoes off at work as much as possible. No pantyhose allowed! Wash your sheets in hot water, soap and bleach, and hang them out in the sun to dry. Shampoo your carpets with an anti-fungal soap. And you can get anti-fungal soaps to wash your feet as well. One of the best on the market is Spectro Gram ‘2′. Don’t forget that funguses are spread by spores, which can live forever in hostile environments. It will take weeks to make sure that you’ve gone through all generations of those fungus spores. And that means a non-ending cleaning regimen until you have been fungus free for at least a week.

It’s certainly easier to get a rx for a fungus cream now isn’t it?

Would diflucan help clear up athletes foot?

I’ve had athletes foot for a good 5 years now and it always seems to come back. I was wondering, since diflucan (fluconazole) is an antifungal used for vaginal yeast infections, would it also work systemically to cure athletes foot? If not, does anyone know of a really good cream/treatment for athletes foot that actually works? Thanks for your help!!

I believe fluconazole works best in vaginosis bc it is effective “systemically” (within the body).

Your treatment of athlete’s foot should actually require a different anti-fungal such as Tolnaftate (Tinactin) which is for topical use (non-systemic).

home remedies for athletes foot?

how do you cure athletes foot with home remedies?

Here are some home remedies that can solve your problem. Hope it helps:

Tea tree oil. The oil from the leaves of this Australian tree is widely used to disinfect skin and fight fungus. Rub the oil between your toes, and follow up with some baking soda to keep them dry. Continue to apply the oil three times a day for at least a week after the rash is gone. When you purchase tea tree oil at a local health food store, open the vial and make sure you can smell a strong, eucalyptus-like medicinal scent. This is a good indication the oil contains enough of the active ingredient.

Garlic. Garlic is a powerful anti-fungal agent. To take advantage of this smelly herb, crush a few cloves and steep them in hot water. When the water cools, soak your feet for several minutes and carefully dry them. You can also chop up a few cloves and slip them in your shoes, or sprinkle your feet with garlic powder. It may not make you popular with your friends, but it will definitely deter enemy fungi.

Calendula. The blossoms of this common garden marigold may fight irritation and encourage your cracked skin to heal. Steep two teaspoons of the flower heads in boiling water. Wet a soft, cotton cloth with the mixture and gently apply it to the irritated area.

Chamomile. A member of the aster family, the chamomile flower can soothe irritated skin and speed its healing. Soak your feet in a bath of cooled chamomile tea to reap the benefits of this garden herb.

Peppermint oil. Just like mint gum freshens your mouth, a pep¬permint bath can cool and refresh your feet. The menthol in pepper¬mint oil numbs pain and relieves itching. Rub your feet with the oil, but make sure you’ve diluted it with a carrier oil, like jojoba or sesame, to prevent irritation. Or try massaging them with peppermint lotion. If you notice any headaches, flushing, or a rash, you may have an aller¬gy to menthol. Stop using peppermint and try tea tree oil instead.

Sage. To keep your feet dry, try a bath of sage and agrimony. Sage is a natural antiperspirant. It may also have the power to soothe skin irritation and kill fungi. Agrimony is an ancient herb from the British Isles used for generations to heal minor skin irritations. Simmer both herbs in water and let the mixture cool before bathing your feet.

You can mix and match many of these herbs to make aromatic foot¬baths. Soak your feet in sage tea with a few drops of tea tree oil and peppermint oil. Or try a warm bath with a few drops of chamomile and peppermint essential oils to soothe itching.

It’s best not to self-treat foot fungus if you have diabetes or anoth¬er circulatory problem. A minor foot irritation could lead to infection or even amputation of your leg. Make sure you check your feet daily for signs of injury and speak with your doctor immediately if you spot any problem areas.
