Home remedies for eczema?
Experiencing Eczema
I have eczema on my neck. It’s not painful most of the time. It’s mostly just a bit red and a slight annoyance. Anyway, I’ve been to the dermatologist three times with it, and he’s given me the usual creams for eczema and things like that. It really doesn’t seem to do a lot to reduce the redness. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with home remedies. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Causes of Eczema
The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and milk products which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments for eczema.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease – the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear from eczema for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.

What, in your experience, was the best lotion for babies that has baby eczema?
Searching for Baby Eczema Remedy
My daughter has what her pediatrician called “classic baby eczema,” red scaly patches on her little face and scalp. Apparently, we are already doing everything we can but it will look better for a while then flare back up, we use cetaphil to bathe her and don’t bathe her very often, and apply lotion several times a day.
Thus far we have tried Aveeno, Aveen for Baby Eczema (underwhelmed by it) Aquaphor, Vaseline, and Cetaphil. The Cetaphil lotion seems to be the best but still not that great. Our doc said it can be a matter of just finding the right one and that a couple patients swore by something he *thought* was called Vana Cream but wasn’t sure if that was right or where to get it.
Oh, and she’s already on hypoallergenic formula(for other reasons) so an elimination diet/formula change wouldn’t help.
ETA: Yes, we are already using the “free and clear” detergent but thanks.

Poor baby! I’m assuming you are using scent-free and bleach-free laundry soap too, right? My husband gets terrible eczema from scented things.
We liked Eucerin creme for our girls with very dry skin. The creme, not the lotion. It comes in a tub.
