best home remedy for curing eczema?
What is the best home remedy for curing/relieving eczema? I’ve heard apple cider vinegar, and coconut oil were good what are some others?
You can use the seeds of chilli peppers that have been stored in the refrigerator for a few weeks to very effectively treat your eczema (it has nothing to do with Capsaicin, the pungent principle). I used to suffer from eczema, in its many forms, since I was about 7 years old. I developed both eczema and asthma shortly after my family moved to the UK. I accidentally made the discovery over 10 years ago when I had started eating chilli peppers regularly for another medicinal purpose. It is crucial that the chillies are stored in the refrigerator for a few weeks prior to use. Only then will their seeds become active. I have explained the natural process involved (Phytoalexins) in my blog. This is the main reason why, despite the widespread consumption of chillies, it was not discovered sooner. There are links within my blog that provide further explanation together with some scientific data (conducted by Novartis Pharma) that proves the remedy works.
It will cost you very little money (chillies are widely available and cheap) and a bit of inconvenience. The pungency (caused by Capsaicin) can be washed away using warm water to leave almost tasteless seeds (Capsaicin is present on the surface of the seeds, but not inside). The seeds must be crushed or chewed. As far as I know it is totally safe and without side effect. Over time it almost acts like a cure, with repeated usage resulting in your eczema returning in increasingly milder form. It has the following attributes:
- It seems to be totally safe and without side effect (I have overdosed on eating chillies for up to 3 month without noticing any side effect)
- It does not suppress the immune system, like synthetic oral corticosteroids do (I was never prone to any infections)
- It does not suffer from resistance, like conventional corticosteroids do (both topical and oral)
- Over time it diminishes eczema, until it becomes very difficult to even deliberately exacerbate it to return. (This has been my experience)
- Within a few days you will notice reduced itching
These attributes seem to be confirmed by the observation made by Indian dermatologists, Kanwar and Dhar (based in Chandigarh, northern India), of an exceptionally low incidence of eczema in the adult population in their region (further details in my blog).
I am trying to bring the matter to the attention of anyone with eczema. If you decide to try the remedy, please share your experience with others with eczema.

home remedies for itiching of eczema?
I was on interfon/copegus combo for 1 year (hep C treatment) About 6 months into it I started with a small patch on my chin which spread throughout my bottom lip all the way down to my collar bones, even the palm of my hands. I saw a dermatologists several times. After 3 rounds of different antibotics, serveral gels and ointments and stopping treatment it still remained. The itiching and buring drives me crazy. A friens at work gave me some Desonide 0.05% ointments that cleared it up within 3 to 5 days, but once I used it up it started coming back within 2 days in the same areas, but now it is on the back if my legs at the bend and the same on my arms. I am so tired of spending money for doctor visits and expensive medications. I have been doing it for a year. I thought once I got off treatment it would just go away. Please help I am desperate…
Find an allergy friendly, fragrance free moisturiser (like Sorbolene in Australia) and put that on the rash. Possibly Calamine Lotion (over the counter at pharmacy) may help with the itching. With the ointments you already have, its important you use them sparingly (only use a tiny amount), as using alot makes your skin thinner and makes it more prone to eczema. Be very careful about putting home remedies on your skin.
Try to work out what your triggers are. I’d be looking at your laundry detergent given that its all over your body, as well as the materials your clothes are made of. Try an allergy friendly detergent and give the clothes an extra rinse cycle in the machine, and try 100% cotton/acrylic clothes. Check your sheets and blankets, don’t use any wool or duck feathers for a while and thoroughly wash any bedding that has been remotely near either of those things.
I’m currently using Advantan cream, it worked for a while but its losing its kick now.
Good luck.

Has anyone had any luck finding a really effective treatment for Eczema sufferers extremely dry skin?
My little girl is 7 years old & suffers with this stuff, about the time i think i’ve got it under control it flares up again.
My daughter in laws friend had a small child he was about 9 months old, his face was so bad it looked like he had a huge birth mark over his face. Everyone stared at this poor little boy. His mother tried cream from the doctors but nothing worked.
Sarah told me about him as I had a friend that made a moisturizing cream made from goats milk I asked Robin if he could help. He gave me a pot of cream. Within a few days the goats milk cream calmed his face down, and a few months later his eczema was in control.

* Take warm (not hot) baths with oatmeal soaking products, or make an oatmeal paste with oatmeal and water.
* Add a half cup of cider vinegar and a third cup of cold compressed sunflower or safflower oil to bath water; soak
* Pat skin gently with a with a wet cool soft compress then gently pat dry to cool the inflammation
* Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize affected area with a hypo-allergic lotion several times daily
* Apply petroleum jelly (creamy type or lotion is good) on skin immediately after bathing, Wet skin soaks it up better. Keeping skin moisturized is a key factor in healing eczema!
* Wet-wrap therapy – soak in bath with mild bath oil then apply moisturizer, such as creamy petroleum jelly. Afterwards, soak bandages in warm water then wrap around affected area. Wrap the wet bandages with dry bandages to lock in moisture.
* Break open a leaf then dab the juice from an Aloe Vera plant on the affected area several times daily
* Add moisture to skin by drinking plenty of water

Are they any online sites that really cure eczema?
Idk if i made sense, but i’ve come across so much sites with products claiming to get rid of eczema, i don’t know which to order from.
Hi, you can try one of the natural treatments available on the Internet (just google “natural treatment of eczema”) – some of them do work. For my eczema I use herbal cream by Champori quite successfully. It takes just a couple of weeks to clear the spots and then they stay clear for months on end.
Try it: Champori comes with money back guarantee so if it doesn’t work – it’s free.

What genetic diseases/skin conditions occur in association with keratosis pilaris?
Please… anyone with a REAL answer?
KP is a genetic skin disorder and it is hereditary. There have been suggestions made that KP might be linked with a deficiency in Vitamin A.
“Follicular keratosis refers to orthokeratosis involving the follicular ostium and infundibulum. It may be isolated [as in standard keratosis pilaris (KP)] or associated with other pathologic processes, including follicular inflammation, atrophy, scarring, and alopecia [keratosis pilaris atrophicans (KPA)]. These are reaction patterns that occur alone or as part of a wide variety of syndromes”
The disorder may be associated with eczema (dermatitis).
