Does anyone know what the best treatment for skin eczema is?

I’ve had this condition for a very long time. It started out on my left thumb and has spread to other areas of my hands. I don’t think it’s skin eczema spacifically because it’s not itchy…it actually extremely dry skin. It has different stages:

1.) Developes round like hard blisters
2.) Blister begins to peel
3.) skins becomes hard and dry (dead skin)

I am aware that I have an allergic reaction to, dust and dirt. I am also aware that it is due to lack of natural skin oil. I’ve been prescribed (external) steriods for my skin and ointment. Nothing has worked for me. Also, this condition has diformed the shape of my nails . Please help me!

For eczema and dry skin, Manuka Honey Cream from New Zealand is really good. It got rid of my eczema in 6 days. I have provided a link to an online shop that provides a bit of information on it.
Good luck!

home remedies for itiching of eczema?

I was on interfon/copegus combo for 1 year (hep C treatment) About 6 months into it I started with a small patch on my chin which spread throughout my bottom lip all the way down to my collar bones, even the palm of my hands. I saw a dermatologists several times. After 3 rounds of different antibotics, serveral gels and ointments and stopping treatment it still remained. The itiching and buring drives me crazy. A friens at work gave me some Desonide 0.05% ointments that cleared it up within 3 to 5 days, but once I used it up it started coming back within 2 days in the same areas, but now it is on the back if my legs at the bend and the same on my arms. I am so tired of spending money for doctor visits and expensive medications. I have been doing it for a year. I thought once I got off treatment it would just go away. Please help I am desperate…

Find an allergy friendly, fragrance free moisturiser (like Sorbolene in Australia) and put that on the rash. Possibly Calamine Lotion (over the counter at pharmacy) may help with the itching. With the ointments you already have, its important you use them sparingly (only use a tiny amount), as using alot makes your skin thinner and makes it more prone to eczema. Be very careful about putting home remedies on your skin.

Try to work out what your triggers are. I’d be looking at your laundry detergent given that its all over your body, as well as the materials your clothes are made of. Try an allergy friendly detergent and give the clothes an extra rinse cycle in the machine, and try 100% cotton/acrylic clothes. Check your sheets and blankets, don’t use any wool or duck feathers for a while and thoroughly wash any bedding that has been remotely near either of those things.

I’m currently using Advantan cream, it worked for a while but its losing its kick now.

Good luck.

Are there any cures for Eczema? I have it on my Face….?

It kills my confidence. I want to get rid of it for good. Id pay anything! At the moment I just use E45 and steroid cream to keep it under control. Any thoughts?

I am afraid there are no cures only managements. E45 is not the best moisturiser as it contains lanolin which in in fact a potent sensitiser. Also I am sure you know that you cannot use more potent steroids than 1% hydrocortisone on your face or you risk skin thinning or marking.

Things not to do:-

Don’t use biological powders
Don’t use fabric softeners
Don’t use soap or detergents to wash with
Don’t use standard shower gels or bath additives

Things to do :-

Try Fairy Snow -the old fashioned powder
Use dryer balls
Use a soap free cleanser to wash hands etc.
Use a moisturising shower gel like Oilatum
Use a moisture bath additive like Aveeno
Use a good moisturiser like Aveeno
Use it very frequently, you can’t over-moisturise!
Use antihistamines for itch, a non sedative one like loratidine in the morning and a sedative one such piriton at night.
You may need to use steroids creams/ointments for flare up areas. Use the mildest you can, for the shortest time possible.

Sorry if you knew all of that already :-(

Has anyone had any luck finding a really effective treatment for Eczema sufferers extremely dry skin?

My little girl is 7 years old & suffers with this stuff, about the time i think i’ve got it under control it flares up again.

My daughter in laws friend had a small child he was about 9 months old, his face was so bad it looked like he had a huge birth mark over his face. Everyone stared at this poor little boy. His mother tried cream from the doctors but nothing worked.

Sarah told me about him as I had a friend that made a moisturizing cream made from goats milk I asked Robin if he could help. He gave me a pot of cream. Within a few days the goats milk cream calmed his face down, and a few months later his eczema was in control.

What’s the best treatment for Eczema?

My 13 yr old sister in law has really bad eczema all over her body. She uses E45 cream and showers daily but it isn’t helping. Her doctor keeps telling her to keep this regime up.

Are there any other more effective creams available? I am thinking it might be her shower gel – she says some shower gels make her itch but as her mum buys them she just uses them as they are in the shower. Is there a brand of shower gel that might be more beneficial?

Hi Vicki,

There is a range of skin care products designed specifically for eczema called ‘allergenics’ for babies and adults.

Here are some comments of users of this range of products.

“My son was getting really bad eczema at the back of his knees and on his arms and it took ages for it to settle before using this ointment. It works really well and you don’t need to put loads on. Recommended”

“My skin has become very dry and sensitive since becoming pregnant and allergenics skin lotion is the only moisturiser I have found that sooths my skin and stops it itching – excellent stuff!”

“Already the dry sore skin below my eyes and on my neck is fading and feels more comfortable. I have very senstive skin and I am very wary of the normal cosmetic products…. which caused this problem in the first place!”

“My husband was given cream for a skin complaint, it only made the condition worse. As we were on holiday in Torquay & the skin was much worse I found your cream in a chemist. It started to heal the skin allmost immediately. I am more than pleased to reccommend this to anyone A Aldridge”

I have included a link to an eczema website below that should give you loads of information. I have also included the link of where to buy the allergenics products with free delivery.

is there a home remedy to treat eczema?

i have it on my elbows and knee caps, is there a home remedy?

* Take warm (not hot) baths with oatmeal soaking products, or make an oatmeal paste with oatmeal and water.
* Add a half cup of cider vinegar and a third cup of cold compressed sunflower or safflower oil to bath water; soak
* Pat skin gently with a with a wet cool soft compress then gently pat dry to cool the inflammation
* Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize affected area with a hypo-allergic lotion several times daily
* Apply petroleum jelly (creamy type or lotion is good) on skin immediately after bathing, Wet skin soaks it up better. Keeping skin moisturized is a key factor in healing eczema!
* Wet-wrap therapy – soak in bath with mild bath oil then apply moisturizer, such as creamy petroleum jelly. Afterwards, soak bandages in warm water then wrap around affected area. Wrap the wet bandages with dry bandages to lock in moisture.
* Break open a leaf then dab the juice from an Aloe Vera plant on the affected area several times daily
* Add moisture to skin by drinking plenty of water
* Use humidifier in dry air or cold weather
* Wear cool, loose, cotton clothing

Is there any type of home remedy for Eczema?

My hands and feet inflamed soooo much last night and its killing me!! I don’t have medical insurance but i do have a bottle of elidel and ketoconazole but neither of them work anymore… is there something that i may have around the house that i can use to make the swelling go down??

Try supplementing your diet with fish oil and I started to use the oil of a vitamin E capsule on areas where the skin is scaly. If the area is inflamed, try some aloe to sooth the inflamed area. Hope this works.

Are they any online sites that really cure eczema?

Idk if i made sense, but i’ve come across so much sites with products claiming to get rid of eczema, i don’t know which to order from.

Hi, you can try one of the natural treatments available on the Internet (just google “natural treatment of eczema”) – some of them do work. For my eczema I use herbal cream by Champori quite successfully. It takes just a couple of weeks to clear the spots and then they stay clear for months on end.
Try it: Champori comes with money back guarantee so if it doesn’t work – it’s free.
