Pubic lice questions
Although you can get pubic lice from your partner, pubic lice is not a sexually transmitted disease. Pubic lice bugs are small parasites that are in the same species with head lice and body lice. You can get pubic lice from being around an infected person or their belongings for a long period of time. It is transferred by physical contact. You can also get them from staying in a hotel, motel or even at your friend’s house. Anyone can get pubic lice if you come in contact with the pesky lice bugs or eggs. They do not care about your gender, sex, nationality or social classification.
“What do pubic lice look like?” is a question that I am often asked. Pubic lice are very small but you can see them with the naked eye. They are shaped to look similar to a crab, that is how they got their nickname,”crabs”. You can check our pictures of pubic lice.
Another question that I am often asked is “What are the signs and symptoms of crabs?” Well just like having head lice, you can feel the crawling, biting and itching sensations. With pubic lice you will experience these symptoms around the genitals and anus. Because the itching with lice is so intense, people have been known to scratch so much they cause lesions and sores on the skin. Most people describe the experience with crabs as unbearable.
Some pubic lice prevention tips that you can use are as follows:
*Bring your own blanket and vinyl or plastic mattress cover with you when sleeping away from home.
*Don’t share anything, especially clothing with other people.
*Disinfect any public toilets or chairs before sitting on them.

A Pubic Lice Nightmare
Pubic lice is transmittable by human contact. I personally have a friend who has dealt with this problem before. A few years back I had a friend who once caught pubic lice from his girlfriends. It started off with just a few bites here and there. The next night it got worse and he was constantly scratching his bottom. He scratched so much that lesions started to form. He did not know what he was dealing with and neither did I. He started to explain to me how he thought he might have caught this from his girlfriend. He told me he couldn’t sleep at night because the biting would get so intense. I wasn’t sure myself, so I suggest for him to examine himself carefully.
He was literally spending most of his days trying to pick at those little creatures and scratching his skin open making sores. Sure enough, he found some pubic lice which are also called crabs because of their body shape. He put some of them in a jar and went to get himself a magnifying glass and then called. The next day, he stopped by my house and showed me some samples of the actually pubic lice, (Gross!). After carefully looking at those pubic lice, I saw how they actually look like crabs. Well, the first thing my friend and I did together was start googling to see what kind of hideous parasites he is dealing with. Sure enough, when we typed “insects in pubic areas” the word pubic lice started to pop up. We clicked on one of the links and found some sample pictures of pubic lice that looked exactly like what he had in the jar that he was holding. I advised him, he better hurry up and go to the Doctor. As soon as he walked out, I started grabbing all kind of disinfectant sprays and started spraying down everything he touched. I started washing all of my linens that he came in contact with. I love my friend, but I don’t think, I wanted to catch crabs from him. I would rather be safe than sorry. Luckily, my friend, responded well to the treatment the doctor prescribed for him and he got rid of his pubic lice. He came to find out later how toxic those medications were to his body. He just couldn’t believed that the Doctor would prescribe those pesticide to people. Those creams mentioned are forms of PESTICIDES used on insects. They are extremely deadly to lice and are very harmful to human at the same time. Most of your common lice products contain Pyrethum and Lindane. These two are extremely toxic. Side effects include neurological problems, nasal stuffiness, headaches, loss of coordination, tremors, convulsion, asthmatic breathing, swelling, burning, and itching.
At that time, we didn’t know about alternative non-toxic pubic lice treatments. We later found out that there are many alternative non-toxic lice treatments that are completely safe to use on your body without side effects. Q-Based provides an All Stop pubic lice treatment that is completely non-toxic. My friend just wished that I would have worked for Q-Based during that time so he could try our products. I didn’t get to help my friend with All stop, but at least I have helped so many others with pubic lice and eliminating them with a safe and non-toxic pubic lice treatment that can be used on anyone including children and infants.

Pam’s Struggle with Scabies
Have you ever asked the question, where did scabies originate from? Since I have been employed with Q-Based Healthcare for almost 3 years now, I have never been asked this question until I spoke to Pam. She is one of my customers that was having difficultly getting rid of scabies. I guess when you are infested by these little creatures, it makes you curious and want to understand them more. Possibly your doctor did not inform you enough about what scabies really are. Some people assume it is a horrible disease. Actually, it’s not, they are microscopic scabies skin mites.
Scabies is known to be very contagious, if you come in contact with an infected person or item for a short period time it can be contracted. You should be very cautious when you are traveling to unfamiliar areas if you do not want to come in contact with scabies mites. Scabies have been around for a very long time. They were first recorded 2,500 years ago and have been affecting humans ever since. Scabies mites can affect anyone, it does not matter what your personal hygiene is, your age or your race. They live on humans and transfer from one person to another.
Some Common Places where you can contract scabies are Nursing Homes, Hotels, Motels, and Crowded Public Places including your friend’s homes and theaters as well.
Pam from Austin, Texas called me for help the minute she found out she has scabies. She went on a cruise during the summer and brought back home a special guest with her — scabies mites. The scabies symptoms did not start to form on her skin until 3 to 4 weeks after the cruise. Symptoms of scabies started off under her bra line, and within weeks, the tracks seemed to be more and more. Worst yet, at night they seemed to be more active. She was constantly scratching at night and sometimes it would wake her up. Pam had to take so much Benadryl to relieve the itching and help to put her back to sleep. She couldn’t stand the torturing from these creatures so she decided to visit her Physician, who automatically diagnosed her with scabies. He prescribed her Elimites to use, but before she started the scabies treatment, she got curious and started to do more research on scabies and found our website. By the time she was through reading our website, she was glad she had decided not to use the products that the doctor had prescribed to her. She discovered Elimite is toxic just like Permethrin Cream. These are commonly prescribed lotions for scabies even despite their toxic properties.
Pam lives alone so she only had to worry about herself and her environment. Pam decide to call in and talk to me, she had many questions regarding scabies infestations. She purchased our Mitactin Scabies Combo, 32 ounce disinfectant, 32 oz. Eco Dust, and a disposable mattress cover. She wanted to make sure these little creatures will be completely gone from her life. She took every precaution and suggestion given to her, and sure enough after completing the scabies treatment and post nodular treatment, she was finally free. Even now, Pam still uses our disinfectant cleaner and in fact she still has our disposable mattress cover on her bed. She also ordered another set to bring it with her whenever she travels. Pam is not the only person that takes extra precaution, most of our staff here at Q-Based Healthcare do as well.
