We found some great prevention tips that we wanted to share with you.

Prevention measures in the home – The fungi that cause athlete’s foot live on moist surfaces and can be transmitted from an infected person to members of the same household through secondary contact.  By controlling the fungus growth in the household, transmission of the infection can be prevented.

Bathroom hygiene – Spray tub and bathroom floor with disinfectant after each use to help prevent reinfection and infection of other household members.
Frequent laundering – Wash sheets, towels, socks, underwear, and bedclothes in hot water (at 60 °C / 140 °F) to kill the fungus.
- Change towels and bed sheets at least once per week.
- Avoid sharing
- Avoid sharing of towels, shoes and socks between household members.
- Use a separate towel for drying infected skin areas.
Prevention measures in public places – Wear shower shoes or sandals in locker rooms, public showers, and public baths.
- Wash feet, particularly between the toes, with soap and dry thoroughly after bathing or showering.
- If you have experienced an infection previously, you may want to treat your feet and shoes with over-the-counter drugs.

Personal prevention measures – Dry feet well after showering, paying particular attention to the web space between the toes.
- Try to limit the amount that your feet sweat by wearing open-toed shoes or well-ventilated shoes, such as lightweight mesh running shoes.
- Wear lightweight cotton socks to help reduce sweat. These must be washed in hot water and/or bleached to avoid reinfection. New light weight, moisture wicking polyester socks, especially those with anti-microbial properties, may be a better choice.
- Use foot powder to help reduce moisture and friction. Some foot powders also include an anti-fungal ingredient.
- Keep shoes dry by wearing a different pair each day.
- Change socks and shoes after exercise.
- Replace sole inserts in shoes/sneakers on a frequent basis.
- Replace old sneakers and exercise shoes.
- After any physical activity shower with a soap that has both an antibacterial and anti-fungal agent in it.”

Permethrin Cream : Toxic and Hazardous

Permethrin Cream is toxic by nature. The toxic permethrin cream has been proven to have nuerotoxic effects and can even cause tumors and cancer. Studies with permethrin cream and labs rats have resulted in lung tumors, cancer and death. An over-exposure to permethrin cream can be crucially damaging to your health.

It’s important to know this fact now, before you use this toxic permethrin cream that doctors still prescribe and pharmacies still sell when eradicating insects and mites. Permethrin Cream is a proven mitacide and will kill scabies, head lice, body lice, pubic lice and other parasites and insects. There’s no denying the fact it will kill insects and mites — but at what cost? Is the sacrafice of your good health and peace of mind worth a quick solution to the problem. We don’t think so, and I’m sure you don’t either. Check out what the we found the EPA and over governing agencies reported on Permethrin cream toxicity and safety hazards below

“Permethrin acts as neurotoxin, slowing down the nervous system through binding to sodium channels. This action is negatively correlated to temperature, thus generally showing more acute effects on cold-blooded animals (insects, fish, frogs…) over warm-blooded animals (mammals and birds):

permethrin is extremely toxic to fish and aquatic life in general so extreme care must be taken when using products containing permethrin near water sources
permethrin is also highly toxic to cats and flea and tick repellent formulas intended and labeled for (the more resistant) dogs may contain permethrin and cause feline permethrin toxicosis in cats
very high doses will have tangible neurotoxic effects on mammals and birds, including human beings.
Permethrin does not present any notable genotoxicity or immunotoxicity in humans and farm animals.

Permethrin is classified by the US EPA a likely human carcinogen, based on reproducible studies in which mice fed permethrin developed liver and lung tumors Carcinogenic action in nasal mucosal cells for inhalation exposure is suspected due to observed genotoxicity in human tissue samples, and in rat livers the evidence of increased preneoplastic lesions lends concern over oral exposure

Recent studies have linked permethrin exposure to Parkinson’s disease, including very small (per kg.) exposures: « Our studies have documented low-dose effects of permethrin, doses below one-one thousandth of a lethal dose for a mouse, with effects on those brain pathways involved in Parkinson’s Disease [...] We have found effects consistent with a pre-parkinsonsian condition, but not yet full-blown parkinsonism ».

Due to high toxicity for aquatic life, permethrin and permethrin-contaminated water should be properly disposed of. Degradation is quick and should the chemical be trashed far from any aquatic life, the negative effects would be minimized. Ideally, in a non-industrial context, the contaminant can be set in the light to induce photodegradation. Contaminated water set in direct sunlight exposure will be cleared of the permethrin and any known pollutant subproducts after a few hours.

Recently, in South Africa, residues of permethrin were found in breast milk, together with DDT, in an area that experienced DDT treatment for malaria control, as well as the use of pyrethroids in small-scale agriculture.

The use of the substance has been restricted by the US government, although such restriction is outdated now.”

Pubic Lice “Crabs” considered STD

Pubic Lice are typically considered an STD, meaning the most common way of contracting Pubic Lice or “Crabs” is from having sexual contact with a person who already has Pubic Lice or “Crabs”. Pubic Lice are also called crabs because of the way they look. Pubic Lice have pincher like claws that resemble those of a crab in order to hold onto the pubic hair shaft.

The most common way to contract Pubic Lice is by having sexual contact with another person who already has crabs, as mentioned above. However, this is not the only way to catch crabs. Coming into contact with contaminated items such as bed linen, bath towels or clothing can all be ways of catching Pubic Lice as well.

One misconception is that you can catch crabs from a toilet seat. This one is definetly Myth and not Fact. Pubic Lice must have something similar to a hair shaft to hold onto an item such as a thread or string. They cannot hold onto something smooth like a toilet seat. Pubic lice would not like or be able to remain on a toilet seat for more than a second or two.

Once you have learned you have Pubic Lice or “Crabs” the next thing to do is find a non-toxic pubic lice treatment that is right for you. Pubic Lice removal can be an easy painless process with the right pubic lice treatment.

Although Pubic Lice are considered an STD, it’s an STD you can do something about. In fact, it’s one of the only STD you can get rid of without going to the doctor, getting on expensive medication or going through a painful procedure.

What is Psoriatic Arthritis?

Psoriatic arthritis accompanies Psoriasis in about 10-30 percent of patients. Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease in the joints and connective tissue which cause stiffness, pain and swelling in the joints. It usually develops between the ages of 30 and 50. Men are slightly by Psoriatic Arthritis more likely to be affected than women. The immune system, genetics and the environment all play a part in the development. If untreated it can be crippling and disabling. Most people have the Psoriasis part of the skin disease first. However, it can have a quick and severe onset. It can actually go years without being detected if the development is slow and mild enough.
The Five Main Types of Psoriatic Arthritis:

Symmetric – The first is similar to rheumatoid arthritis. However, symmetric arthritis is milder and less deforming but still can be disabling. It usually occurs in the same joint on both sides of the body.

Asymmetric -Asymmetric arthritis does not occur in the same joint on both sides of the body. It can be in a few or many joints and can affect any joint in the body such as the knee, hip, wrist or ankle. The fingers may become enlarged. The symptoms include red warm and tender joints with periodic joint pain. While this can be disabling at times, it is usually mild.

Distal Interphalangeal Predominat – The third type is only in about 5 percent of patients and is called distal interphalangeal predominant. It is found in the joint of the finger or toe farthest from the body. It can be confused with osteoarthritis if the nail changes are not noted.

Spondylitis - This is the fourth type which causes an inflammation in the spine. This form occurs in about 5% of patients. The symptoms include inflammation with stiffness in the lower back, neck and vertebrae which make motion difficult and painful. The disease can show up in the hands, hips, arms, legs and feet.

Mutilans – The last type is a deforming, destructive and severe arthritis that occurs in less than 5% of patients. It is commonly seen in the hands and feet with pain in the neck or lower back. Any of the symptoms listed below can be a sign of psoriatic arthritis. However it can be difficult to diagnosis due to mimicking cartilage tear, lack of joint swelling, and need for repeated episodes.

Finger Nails Spread Athlete’s Foot, Jock Itch and Ringworm

The highly contagious nature of the ringworm fungus makes the nature of the fungal infection serious. Many do not know that ringworm, jock itch and ringworm are all caused by the same fungus. The name of the infection is simply determined by the location of the infection. The ringworm, jock itch and athlete’s foot fungus causing red, inflamed skin and in severe cases will cause cracking and bleeding (most common in Athlete’s Foot in between the toes). The main symptom of all three of these fungal infections is intense itching. This, of course, causes the desire to scratch because of the intense itching.

The worst thing you can do when you have a ringworm of the body, athlete’s foot or jock itch infection is to scratch. Your fingernails will become a carrier of the fungus. You will then spread the ringworm of the body to the groin which then becomes jock itch or visa versa. Or you can spread your athlete’s foot and turn it into ringworm of the body. You get the picture. The point is no matter how bad you want to scratch, you really shouldn’t. Or if you do, you need to wash your hands immediately afterwards with an anti-fungal hand soap.

It’s important to find a ringworm treatment that will attack all of the symptoms and the fungus at the same time. You need a ringworm treatment guaranteed to work. Something that will help alleviate the itch will drawing the fungus to the surface and drying it out. Which is exactly what the All Stop Ringworm Treatment does.
