Although you can get pubic lice from your partner, pubic lice is not a sexually transmitted disease. Pubic lice bugs are small parasites that are in the same species with head lice and body lice. You can get pubic lice from being around an infected person or their belongings for a long period of time. It is transferred by physical contact. Pubic lice is transmittable by human contact. I personally have a friend who has dealt with this problem before. A few years back I had a friend who once caught pubic lice from his girlfriends. It started off with just a few bites here and there. The next night it got worse and  he was constantly scratching his bottom. He scratched so much that lesions started to form. Well, the first thing  my friend and I did together was start googling to see what kind of hideous parasites he is dealing with. Sure enough, when we typed  “insects in pubic areas” the word pubic lice started to pop up. We clicked on one of the links and found some sample pictures of pubic lice that looked exactly like what he had in the jar that he was holding. When I first started here at Q-Based Healthcare, for some reason, the word- “SCABIES”  scared me.   I didn’t know what it was, but it sure sounded really like a horrible disease that is very contagious.
