Hives Problem
I ended up getting hives for the second time from a medication my doctor prescribed me. It’s 8:33 at night. The doctor’s isn’t opened tomorrow. Is there anything I can do to minimize the size of the hives and possibly get rid of the itching?! I’m freaking out here because last time I had medication which relieved it. But this time, I don’t.

An antihistamine like Claritin or Benadryl will help. Benedryl will put you to sleep, which should be ok at this time. If you take Tagament with the Benadryl it is actually more effective for hives. Claritin may or may not help, depending on what kinds of side effects it gives you.
An itch cream with hydrocortisone will help the itching. However, if the hives are moving in waves across your body, then it is very difficult to keep up with the cream.
Other than that, wear the softest clothing you can. Seams, pictures on T shirts, and rough fabrics can be very irritating and make the hives worse. Wear plain clothing that is comfortable and without a lot of adornments.
