UPDATE: I used my home remedies for several months on a rash elsewhere as well. Due to having to travel, lack of time and access to my natural remedies, I was compelled to use an over the counter remedy which eradicated the problem in a couple days, where my home remedies failed to produce such remarkable results.

It has gotten worse but has stopped getting bad now after treatment from various medicines, Lamisil, Tinactin, Lotrimin, what should i do please help its ruining my life.

No, not really. Jock itch is caused by a fungus, so you need a treatment for it from the pharmacy. The same type creams used to treat athlete’s foot will work, the most common names to look for are Lotrimin, Lamisil, or Monistat. You want to get a cream, rather than a spray or powder. You will also feel a little more comfy if you can get some airflow going on in the region. If you are at home, try just wearing a pair of boxer shorts, rather than jockey shorts. Is jock itch really that bad?

What happens when you have jock itch for more than half a year? Anything bad will happen to you? If you think it is embarassing, do you have to tell you parents or doctor? And what’s the best treatment for it?

You really do not want to let a significant skin issue go untreated for such a long period of time. You can try over the counter remedies, but your case may be a little far gone for that after 6 months. “Jock itch” is a common condition that is caused by a fungus – so no need to feel embarrassed. The only shameful thing would be if you allow yourself to suffer. Doctors have seen much worse and your parents have probably already had some form of it. I would caution you that it may also be a yeast infection. Yeast can cause a nasty rash that presents much like jock itch, but it won’t respond to the treatments. You’d need some nystatin cream for that.

Do i have genital herpes or jock itch? PLEASE HELPP!!!!!!?

I have these bumps around the lips of my vagina and in my mouth on my tongue my boyfriend says he has a rash that the doctors diagnosed as jock itch now i do know that the are both often confused. My doctor however said it looks as if i have a classic case of herpes but then again she could be wrong at least I’m hoping Is jock itch contagious if there is vaginal or oral sex? i am only fifteen and really scared I’m assuming the worse !!!! If its either does anyone know of any home remedies that may relief the irritation and sensitivity ????

Herpes can be miss diagnosed (if it was just a visual exam) and men can have more mild out breaks of herpes then women, but both men and women can have mild out breaks to the point where it can look and or feel like some thing else. Jock itch is contagious through skin contact when you have sex. Both of you should go back to the doctor and get tested specifically for herpes. If you don’t have an out break ask them to give you a blood test. That is the only way you are going to know for sure.

I have jock itch, any treatments? Please answer!?

My skin on my thighs (near the balls) are flaking and it is red down there and it stings. I think the cause of this was when I accidently put tretinoin cream on that area (I’m using it to get rid of adolescent stretch marks). Please answer, this itch is driving me crazy!

I put Gold Bond (powdered form) on the rash every night, will that help?

If it has been a few days since you put anything on your skin, then simply go to your local pharmacy and get some jock itch cream. If you already tried that, then see a doctor or your school nurse (maybe school’s out for summer now?) to get something stronger (you may need a prescription). If you’re involved in any sports, one of your coaches can probably help you, too.

Symptoms of jock itch, and is this jock itch?

I have very small circular openings (blisters I guess) in the groin area. They look like cuts. They are not bumps.
It looks as if the skin has been cut.
At first, it was very itchy then I treated it with Neosporin. It isn’t as itchy anymore, but from time to time it gets itchy.
I have concluded that it may be jock itch, but I am not really too sure because I don’t know if jock itch has the small cuts that I was talking about.
Also, what are home remedies to help this out? I put Arm and Hammer powder on it to cool it down. Is there anything else I can do?

Apply some Oil of Oregano to the distressed site, be it jock itch or just a minor skin rash, that will alleviate and probably “cure” it.
