Cure for Poison Ivy

The secret to a Cure for Poision Ivy is very simple.

If you’ve been exposed to Poison Ivy, the secret is acting quickly to reduce the poison ivy rash outbreak and to find a Cure for Poison Ivy. This is very important… you should move quickly to remove the urushiol oil from your body and remember you have about a ten minute slot to get the urushiol oil off your skin:

  1. First rub the areas that have been exposed to the urushiol oil with rubbing alcohol.
  2. If you have a skin scrub, then use that first.
  3. Then jump in the shower and completely wash your entire body paying special attention to the areas that were exposed.
  4. Then put gloves on and then begin wiping down everything with rubbing alcohol and water.

Finding a Cure for Poison Ivy depends on if you got the urushiol oil off your skin in the ten minute period of time. If you waited longer for a Cure for Poison Ivy, it is more than likely you will end up with a Poison Ivy Rash.

The best Cure for Poison Ivy obviously is to prevent getting poison ivy at all. However, knowing at this point that it is inevitable you will break out with a Poison Ivy Rash, we recommend you still scrub your nails with a small nail brush and wash your shoes well.

There are products on the market as a Cure for Poison Ivy such as All Stop Poison Ivy Gel, Zanfel, or Ivy Cleanse Towelettes that available over the counter if you prefer not using alcohol on your skin.

Remember that Poison Ivy is not contagious; therefore if you experience the rash spreading, it’s just because your skin absorbed the urushiol oil differently.

We highly recommend getting setup prior to Poison Ivy Season with some type of “Poison Ivy Emergency Response Kit” to prevent poison ivy rashes. The kit should consist of a skin scrub or rubbing alcohol, a bottle of water and some soap. Obviously you do not want your children playing with rubbing alcohol, so please keep this recommended “Kit” in a safe place.
