I Are their any new treatments available for psoriasis on the scalp?
I have suffered with this condition for many yearsand thought there might be some new products available.I am currently using Elocon.
Steroids and dandruff shampoos are the still the main treatments. There are more potent steroids than elocon that you could use for a brief course, e.g. clobex, or you could just use the stronger steroid on the weekends.
Three brief studies were done on the use of the excimer laser on patients with scalp psoriasis. The excimer is a laser with a wavelength similar to that of ultraviolet B, which is a well established treatment for psoriasis.

turmeric for psoriasis? and other treatments?
I have mild psoriasis on my knees and scalp. I go to photo therapy twice a week, but it is not going away. I read something about turmeric and how it might help. Does anyone have any experience using this for psoriasis? Did it work for you? What other treatments have you been successful with?
My mother has HORRIBLE psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The backs of her hands looked like alligator skin – very think scales, very bright red, broken skin. She also had patches on her knees and elbows. She began using a turmeric supplement about two months ago and ALL her skin is beautiful! No more broken skin, no more patches of scales….nothing! All cleared up! If you are at all bothered by psoriasis, TRY TURMERIC!! What have you got to lose? Good luck!

Are there any good treatments for psoriasis on the bottom of feet?
I have psoraisis of the head, hands, heels and small portion of my feet. try all natural and unrefined sheabutter. rub on feet before you go to bed and keep socks off of feet. put shea on in the morning as well with socks on. It is said that sheabutter draws out the toxins in skin. It’s helping me a little so far. May feel a mild tingling or burning sensation.

I have recently developed psoriasis and was wondering if the fact that I’m pregnant is worsening the symptoms?
Also I wanted to know if anyone has found a good medication that really cleared there skin
Well, I have suffered with psoriasis for 20 years and during all my 3 pregnancies it seemed to help my skin. My doctor told me I was apparfently producing a hormone or something that was helping me. While there is no cure, I do go to the dermotlogist every now ane then and the cremes he prescribes work for a while because you get immune to them. Best of luck to you as it is a trying thing to live life with it, but make the best of it and ignore the stares.
