Naturasil Homoeopathic Remedies for Scabies, 15 ml, 0.5 Ounce
Is it safe to use head lice killer stuff from the store to kill scabies on 1 and 1/2 year old?
Problem on scabies
I’m almost 100% positive that my family somehow got scabies. My 1 and 1/2 year old is in misery and has the red itchy bumbs ALL OVER her, as do I. We don’t have insurance and all the doctors I call either won’t see us, are booked up or are way too expensive.
. Medicaid is a joke, so please don’t even suggest it. Please only answer my question, is it safe to use lice killing stuff on a 1 and 1/2 year old because I read several places online that is an effective way to kill scabies without a prescription? (all the prescriptions to kill scabies are toxic anyway, so it seems a home remedy would be safer for my daughter). I’ve been using tea tree oil since last night, it seems to help a little, but it said not to use it on children so I’ve used such a small amount on her that it doesn’t seem to help her.
thanks
Using Head Lice Killer to Kill scabies
Last summer we had a head lice problem in my house, at the time my youngest wasn’t even one yet. After calling the pediatrician, I found out it is ok to use the head lice killing shampoo on them. You just need to be very careful to not get the shampoo in her eyes. Also the tea tree oil is ok to use as well, it will not hurt her unless she ingests it.
Scabies Treatment
I used it too on my kids and myself when we had that darn lice problem. Unfortunately though, we ended up having to get the kids on a prescription medicine to kill the lice. So just be aware that could end up being a possibility with the scabies, but in the meantime, it is ok to use the over the counter shampoo and tea tree oil. Good luck.

Scabies is a common skin infestation that causes small itchy bumps and blisters due to tiny mites called Sarcoptes scabiei. The mites burrow into the top layer of human skin to lay their eggs.
The burrows sometimes appear as short, wavy, reddish, or darkened lines on the skin’s surface, especially around the wrists and between the fingers. A child who has contracted scabies can also develop a bumpy red rash.

How Do People Get Scabies?
Scabies is contagious, and is usually transmitted by prolonged skin-to-skin contact or through sexual contact with someone else who is infected with it. The infection spreads more easily in crowded conditions and in situations where there is a lot of close contact — like within a household, childcare centers, college dorms, or nursing homes. So if someone in your child’s class or childcare group has scabies, it’s wise to have your child treated for the infection even before he or she develops symptoms.
Mites can live for about 2 to 3 days in clothing, bedding, or dust, making it possible to catch scabies from people who share the same infected bed, linens, or towels.
It may take up to 4 to 6 weeks after infection for symptoms to appear in someone who’s never had scabies before. In people who have had scabies previously, symptoms may appear in just a few days.
