So I am starting Scabies Treatment with perethrin tonight. I know I need to wash all my clothes and bedding etc. I read somewhere that it is good to get gamma benzene hexachloride spray and use it on furniture and stuff. Where would I get that in a spray? Isn’t that a prescription? Also, if I can’t get that what do you recommend using on my car seats, couchs and chairs? Thanks.

The best thing is to wash bedding, recently worn clothes ect. like you said. Use the prescription lotion head to toe as prescribed. To be honest the spray can be a waste of money and unneeded exposure to chemicals/pesticides. Vaccume the furniture thouroghly is best. Scabies cannot live outside of the host(your body) for long. They need a nice 98.6 degree person such as yourself to reside on.

hi, can somebody tell me what are the characterized symptoms of scabies, and what is the drug of choice of its treatment?
what about Lindane (benzyl hydroxy chloride)? is it used in its treatment?

In the US the treatment usually used is 5 percent Permethrin cream which is elimite.This is viewed as the most effective pesticide to apply to the skin. In India and other countries they have had success with combining neem and tumeric. It is also important to be sure to wash all clothing and linen in hot washer/dryer and bag for a period of time what can’t be washed.

I had a problem with my dog having fleas and sarcoptic mange (scabies). He’s finishing up treatment and we’ve cleaned the entire house,but now i want to get some prevention medicine, I don’t know which one is better??? the more preventive the medicine in (in all fields) obviously the better it is…and it HAS to be water proof.

Please help me decide. Or if you have other options I’m open to listening, and please provide me links orr ideas of places where I can buy these medicines. I thin advantage multi is prescription only???

by the way, i have a 5 month old maltese/poodle (aprox. 7lbs)

sulfur 8 you can find in Sally’s or at the CVS or Walgreens ask for glovers mane. When we where kids our dogs got mange and my grand mother mixed sulfur 8 and glover mane together and in a week there hair grew back. Sulfur 8 is water proof. Its like a grease that stinks but it works.

So, My dog had scabies (sarcoptic mange) and now that he is all better I have to buy him some prevention medicine for fleas, ticks, and most importantly the mange, the only medications i know that prevents all those 3 are Revolution and Advantage Multi, but I heard Revolution was not safe to use on dogs due to many bad side effects and overall i’ve heard some bad stories, im just scared to use that one, but advantage ive heard of different ones, the advantage multi, advantage Bayer?? im so confused,

can anyone help me choose what to use on my dog!!

I am not familiar with Revolution but Advantage Mutli is great and it covers heart worms as well. Highly recommend it. My dog had mange as a puppy to which he has outgrown it. As long as you use mild shampoos, your puppy should be good. I know there is an oatmeal and aloe one that is really good.
