i need details that may help me diagnose this syndrome in myself. i have started noticing strange things, symptoms of this disease, in december 2006. as of today, i am not better, in fact, i can almost say i feel and look worse. the doctors just tell me i have dry skin and a psychiatric disorder. i need info. from real people with this very real and strange disease.

I found a female pit bull… she’s got bad mange(how much will it cost to treat?) and huge nipples, I don’t know if it means she just had puppies or she has been used for breeding multiple times, I assume she’s escaped neglectful owners, the type to use dogs for fighting.. she’s very sweet and would have luck getting adopted once her medical needs are met. I’m keeping her at my moms in her big back yard. i cant keep her w/ me b/c i have a baby pup and a very old dog I don’t want them to contract whatever she may have disease wise. I am having trouble getting in contact with a no kill shelter or rescue group most have messages saying they are full… I can’t afford what medical needs she may need probably pretty extensive… sterilization, skin treatment for mange, parasite control probably more… but I’m hoping someone will have a good heart to adopt and save her… any help with what i can do to get her in a good shelter? i live in dallas TX if that helps

Mange can be hard to treat but it depends on the dog, and without adequate vet check, you don’t even know it’s mange, it may be something hormonal or allergies or some sort of staph infection that a round of antibiotics will cure right up. I’ve honestly never seen a mean pit bull. by nature they are sweet, it’s a bad rap by bad owners. Most vets, except for the huge practices will work with you on cost, otherwise, call the no-kill shelters and just ask for a vet referral as often they work with vets who will give a discounted fee on everything for people who rescue or take in strays. Thanks for being so sensitive to this animals needs. You are great! the dog is lucky!
